LONDON, August 13. George Gray alias M'Craig, described as an Australian stock breeder, was committed for trial on a charge of ■ breaking and entering a house in Clarendon Place, Hyde Park. Gray appeared in court on crutches. It is alleged that he made a ‘ cat burglar's ” climb to tho balcony, and was found asleep on a settee on Sunday morning by a parlormaid. When ho was discovered Gray made a wild dash for the window and jumped over the balcony railings 36ft into the area below, breaking his leg and four toes and suffering internal injuries.—A, and N.Z.
