Dr Mannix, in acknowledging the freedom of Waterford, said he did not believe that tho Irish Republicans could at present achieve success by force. Ho was as much opposed to the treaty as ever, and looked forward to the day when the country would be united in opposition to those who wore trying to drag it deeper iulo the heart of the British Empire.—A. and N.Z.
