HOUSE TOTALLY DESTROYED

SAHDYMOUiJT FARMER'S MISFORTUNE

Carl Robertson, a Snndymnnnt farmer, was in Dunedin last Wednesday. His wife, at home by herself, was lying down with the child when she smelt smoke. Going hastily out of the room she found the house--a wooden building of five rooms—well alight. She attempted to quell the flames, but futilely, and the property was utterly destroyed. Its value was estimated at £000."

The house was insured in the Alliance Assurance Company for £450. There was no insurance on the furniture.
