Pending Mr Stead’s return from England, Mr H. L. Tripp , had reported, further consideration of the proposed ! importation of game birds had been • held over. Landholders at Waipiata and Gimmerhurn had complained of the depredations by pukeho. The committee thought the large number of birds was attributable to the brevity of the shooting season, which, it con- | sidered, should be extended to August. The petition of the landholders, it was recommended, should be forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, with a i request for the declaration of an open season in the middle of August. The report was adopted. Submitting figures regarding the quantity of ova and fry distributed find the ova sold from 1921 to 1925, the President expressed the opinion that the success of the society in the collection -of ova this year should result in a considerable reduction in the cost for 1,01)0.
