The diplomatic correspondent of the • Daily Telegraph ’ understands that the reports from Cairo that the British Government has agreed to the appointment of an Egyptian officer as Sirdar are not without foundation, though they are premature. The appointment will probably be delayed until the Criminal proceedings in connection with the murder of Sir Eve Stack have been finally settled. —A. and N.Z. Cable. *
