(Received July 22, at 12.25 p.m.) hi an open letter to the Premier (Mr Lang) the executive of the Chamber of Manufacturers states (hat the adoption of a forty-four-hour week must inevitably brine a loss to the workers in diminished employment, to the public in increased cost of commodities, and to the manufacturers and the. State in the decreased possibilities pf idle expansion of industry. The executive suggests that New South ,\Vales postpones the introduction till the other States of the Commonwealth Hre ready to take similar action.
