(Received July 21, at 1.35 p.m.) A message from Swampscott, Massachusetts, states that Senator Hole, chairman of the Senate’s Naval Committee, informed Mr Coolidge to-day that lie believed that immediate steps should be taken to establish a strong naval base on the Pacific coast and strengthen Pearl Harbor and the Hawaii defences. —Reuter.
