British detectives are searching for four well-dressed confidence tricksters who robbed an overseas visitor of £1,500 in Bank of England notes. They met the visitor at a London hole!, and casually mentioned that they had important exclusive racing information, which the visitor could share. As no money was asked for, the visitor accepted, and bets were made by telephone. The visitor later was told that ho had won £.3,000. He was delighted; but ho was asked to show that hn bad sufficient funds to pay tho bets if he had lost, whereupon he handed over to the men £1,500. They departed to collect the Lo.tXX), making an appointment to meet tho overteas visitor in Paris. Ho went and waited in vain. Then ho informed the pAre,— A. and N.Z. Cable.
