ANOTHER POLAR FLIGHT

(Received June 50, at 9.10 a.m.) The Riga correspondent of ‘The Times’ £ ays that the Soviet Government intends to equip a Polar air expedition into the unknown Arctic, particularly into the regions directly north of Soviet territory. Dr Nansen, whom the Soviet consulted, has now submitted a plan drafted in collaboration with Captain Bmhns, the German aeronaut, who it is expected will shortly join Dr Nansen at Moscow for the purpose of detailed explanations. The Soviet has also appointed a Commission to examine the proposals for establishing regular airship communication between Europe and Asia via Russia and most of the northern territories.
