STEAMERS COLLIDE

SYDNEY, January 30. (Received January 30, at 11.5 a.m).
A collision occurred between the steamers Dilkera and Kaitoke in the basin at Newcastle Harbor. The latter vessel suffered moderate damage, which will delay her sailing till the repairs are effected. The damage to tho Dilkera was slight. The Dilkera had just entered port, and was moving to her wharf position, when she ran into 1 lie Kaitoke, which was tied up at her moorings. A strong southerly was blowing at the time of the mishap.
[The Kaitoke is a vessel of 3,167 tons, and is engaged in the Union Steam Ship Company’s cargo service. She left Port Chalmers on January 25 for Newcastle to load coal for Dunedin. The. Dilkera is a steel vessel of 2.667 tons, built in 1902 for the Adelaide Steamship Company. On April 9 last the Dilkera came into collision with tho Wyrallah, oft Port Phillip Heads.
