FANATICAL NATIONALISTS. MUCH INTRIGUE AND PLOTTING. LONDON, December 8. (Received December 9, at 9.10 a.m.) The 1 Daily Mail’s ■’• Cairo correspondent saya: “ The plotters find difficulty in selecting assassins for London. They are hardly likely to escape arrest; therefore they must not be deeply initiated into the Nationalist conspiracy for fear of betraying important secrets. There is a Nihilist clicjue attached to the Nationalist Party here. The members of this clique hold secret meetings in the houses of their wealthy Egyptian supporters _to excite themselves into political hysteria, and also to indulge in smuggled cocaine. ‘ Hurrah for deatli!’ is a common ejaculation at these orgies, in which violent criminals, besides students, participate. “All the Egyptian Ministers have received a circular purporting to be signed by the army officers who were expelled from the Sudan, declaring that they intend to lead a military rising and massacre all tho British in Egypt. The circular is regarded as a Nationalist forgery. “ King Fuad having rejected tho demand ot tho Nationalist deputies to_ reassemble Parliament immediatelyfbeso members are sending another petition repeating the demand in violent terms, and denouncing Ziwar as a British puppet.” —Svdnev ‘ Sun ’ Cable.

The Egyptian Press does not treat the plot in Loudon seriously, and deprecates the publication of alarmist rumors when a calmness is needed. The Residency officials say that Lord Alleiibv's telegram pointed out that the warning was based on rumors that were unsubstantial, but which could not be ignored.—A. and N.Z. Cable. “ NEW NAPOLEON OB’ THE NILE.” LONDON, November 24. Tho ‘ Daily Sketch,’ describing Lord Allenby as " the new Napoleon _of the Nile," says that he is acting with the swift decision which characterised his conquest of Palestine. An aircraft demonstration checked the agitation at Tanda, which is a hotbed of political unrest. The Governor of Mansurnh has ordered thrashings for all students participating in anti-British demonstrations.
