THE SIEGEN MURDERS. AUGERSTEIN’S confession. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, December 3. As the result of finger-print examinations the detectives suspect that Herr Augcvstoin (the colliery manager) perpetrated the murders, and stabbed himself in order to cover up financial difficulties. Tiro .search for the bandits up to tbe present has been resultless. Augers tein’s version is that he returned unexpectedly. He said he saw the bandits at work, and he was attacked and left helpless. The detectives announce that when the bodies were found rigor mortis bad set in, indicating that the victims had been killed some time earlier. Augerstein. is expected to recover. A. later message stated; “Angerstein has confessed to the eight murders. He says that the story of the robbers was intended to explain’ the loss of the money which he embezzled.”—A. and N.Z. Cable.
