(Received September 17, at 9.5 a.m.) According to the National Industrial Conference, the taxes raised in the United States in 1923 totalled £1,500,000,000. This is £150,000,000 above that of the preceding year. The taxation by the Federal, State, and local governments has risen more than £1,100,000,000 during the past ten years.—Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
