SYDNEY, August 17. A remarkable railway incident occurred near Murruruudi.

A goods train after passing through; a lengthy tunnel rushed down the decline beyond, apparently out o£ control. The guard applied the emergency brake, and with difficulty brought the train to a standstill. An investigation disclosed that the driver and fireman were unconscious, having been overcome by smoko fumes whilo passing through tho tunnel. An hour elapsed before they were able to resume duty. The prompt action of tho guard averted l a certain disaster.
