The following are among the remits to i be submitted by Otago at the New Zca- j land Hospital Boards’ Conference, to be held at Wellington in October:— “That tho. conference consider the prin- 1 ciple of the suggested amalgamation of ; hospital boards generally throughout Now | Zealand for the treatment of consump- ■ lives, with a. view to pooling (he capital cost of maintenance thereof m proportion , to the rateable capital value of (ho districts.” “That a hospitals’ conference be ar- , ranged in Dunedin during the Exhibition , period under the auspices of the New ' Zealand Hospital Boards’ Association, the | New Zealand branch of the Medical Asso- | ciation, and the Central Health Depart- 1 ment, the proceedings to bo of an international character and delegates invited from Great Britain, America, and Australia. Delegates might be asked to prepare in advance papers dealing with hospital policies in their country, and similarly political parties in New Zealand who have a hospital policy (e.g., the Labor Party) might bo risked to slate their programme, while a paper on the subject by j a pure economist would be of value.” "That .Dr A. B. Falconer, medical superintendent of the Dunedin Hospital, who is at present in America,, bo asked to represent, the Hospital Boards’ Association at a hospitals’ conference to be held in America in October.” “That the Workers’ Compensation Act ha amended to permit of £2O, instead of £l, being allowed to workers who meet with accident for their medical and host pita! expenses,”
