GRAIN' AND PRODUCE. .Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd.., report:— Oats.—Very few samples are coming forward, and the demand, particularly for heavy oats .suitable for seed or milling, has unproved. Wo quote: A Cartons, 5s 4d; li Cartons, os 2d per bushel (sacks extra.). Wheat—Supplies are very light, and values have firmed. Good whole fowl wheat is inquired for at up to 6s 9d per bushel.
Potatoes.—Sales of northern potatoes have been made to local merchants during the past week, and this has had the effect of keeping values at late rates. Good tables are realising from £6 to £6 16s per ton. Chaff.—Consignments arriving are barely sufficient to copo with the demand from local [coders, and sales of prime oaten sheaf have been made at £8 10s per ton (sacks extra).
