OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIP. WIX FOR. MRS DODGSHUN. Tho final of the Otago ladies’ golf championship was played on Tuesday morniire, between Mrs Cook' (last year s champion) and -Mrs Dodgshun, Mrs Dodgsluin winning by •*) up and 3 to play The chiy wiis hne, but u biting ivincl from ibo south-west made play rather difficult; also the greens are so bad at present that good putting is almost impossible. Details of tho game arc as followßoth got good drives at the first bnio. Mrs Dodgshhn played her second and third badly, reaching the green in 4. Mrs Cook was outside tho green in 3—winning the hole in 5. At. Flagstaff both had poor drives, and short seconds. Mrs Dodgslmn’s third failed to reach tho green, Mrs Conk’s being on ; and she won, ■> to ft—Mrs Cook' 2 up. At the third (Goodwin's! both were on in 2; Mrs Cook missed a 4, laying Airs 'Dodgshun a half stymie: the latter, however, screwing the hall round, winning 4 to d. Mrs Dodgshun won the fourth in 4—Mrs Cool; approaching badly—all square. The Terrace was halved in 6, and Mrs Cook won the short ridge in 4, Mrs Dodgshun pitching her inashie shot too far through, and taking d. Mrs Cool; 1 up. At Camel’s Hark" Mrs Dodgshun missed her drive, and played a good second past the bunker; her approach was topped, but ran up to about a yard from the hole. Airs Cook was through the green with her second two lovely shots! ; iras short with her third, taking d. Mrs Dodgshun holed in 4. Monastery was won by Mrs Dodgshun in d, Airs Cook again approaching, and putting badly. At >.hc Summit Airs Cook, for the first time, missed Inr drive- -Airs Dodgshun winning in d. Airs Dodgshun 2 up at the turn.
At tho Drop both worn on tho green in 1, and both took 3 putts—halving in 4. Airs Dodgshun topped her drive at Tipperary the ball finding the rough on the left. Airs Cook got a good one, and both pot good seconds. Both topped tboir third. al«o tire fourth. Airs Cook wan through with her fifth. Airs Dodgshun lying about a, yard from the hole. Airs Cook ran a, good one nown,laying Airs Dodgshun a stymie. She used her rnashio hero, playing a pretty shot into the. hole—winning, (V 7. Airs Dodgshun, 3 up. Airs Cook bad tho better drive at ADGlasban’s, but was short with her second, too far with her third, taking f>. Mrs Dodgshun was on in 2—holing iu 4—4 up.
Mrs Cook won Manuka in fi. Airs Dodgshun having out her second in the rough, reached the green in 5, taking two putts. Airs Dodgshun, 3 up. Both drove badly at Boy’s. Airs Cook was through in 2, Mrs Dodgshun being on the green, and holing out in 4 to Airs Conk’s b.
At Bpion Kop Airs Dodgshun was on fire green in 3. Airs Cook approached badly, and missed tier putt, and Mrs Dodgshun won tire hole ; n n, and the match—s and 3.
