BALMACEWEN BOWLING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. The Bahnacowcn Bowling Club held its annual meeting on Saturday. In spite of the rough weather, about forty members were present, beefing reference was made to the loss the club had sustained by the death of the late Mr William Kirkwood. Tho annual report was read and confirmed. It slated that the club engaged in 141 rinks in the interclub games, winning sixty-four and losing seventy-seven, scoring 2,G93 points for, and having 2,&i0 scored against, and securing 10 banner points, as against 5 last season, ia the four-rink championship the club won two and lost three games, scoring 419 points, against 293. The following are tho results of the club ties; —Club champion, N. Malcolm; runner-up, T. _ Ferguspn. Handicap singles; Winner, W. Chillingworth; runner-up, J. Melville. Club doubles; Winners, T. Jiiudle and C. Crater; runners-up, K. Adamson and J. R. Glover Rink competition: Winners, T. Ferguson, C. Harrison, W. Wright, and J. Swann, in the Martin Medal coinpetition, Messrs T. Jlindle, J. Melville, W. MUlen, and T. Ferguson stalled off several challenges, and arc still bolding the .medals. Tho annual Loving Cup match with Otago'Club provided a most enjoyable game, Balmaccwon winning by 41 points It, was resolved to support the centre in its scheme for the upkeep of greens. It was resolved that it ho a recommendation to the centre to ask selectors of lim various clubs to nominate players from whom the Otago loam will bo picked. It was resolved that it bo a recommendation to the centre that tho four-rink championship be discontinued on, Saturdays. Following office-bearers wore elected:-Vice-president bowling section, Mr W. Morrison; secretary, Mr Rigby; committee—Messrs Ferguson, Millin, Wright, Bennie; selectors—Messrs Wright, Ferguson, and M'Donald; delegates to Dunedin. Centre —Messrs Glover, Wright, Watson ; Billiard Commltteo—Messrs Lambeth, Smith, Bcoby, A. MTntosh, G. Adamson.
