JAPANESE AND FRENCH ART. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright TON 10, June 2. (Received June 3, at 12.10 p.ra.) Two pictures of the art exhibit loaned from the French Academy of Art—viz., Rodin's ‘ Kiss of Spring’ and Raphael Collins's ‘Sleep’ —were covered up. A representative of the French Ambassador, on inquiry, was informed by tho police that kissing is an unclean habit, the introduction and encouragement of which in Japan was not desirable. —‘ Sun.’
