ORIENTAL OABNIVAL. A meeting of those, interested in the fortbroiTiin.DC Oriental carnival wan hold in flic St. Joltn Ambulance Association's rooms yesterday afternoon. The meeting'was addressed by thn Rev. V. G. Bryan King, after which (lie following stalls were arranged for:—Sweets -Mrs J. J. Clark, agisted by Mrs C. Speight, and Nurse Torrance; soft drinks, ices.'etc.—Ladies' Hockey Association (Airs R. Hudson and 'Mrs G. Nelson); surprise packets and dolls—St. John Ambulance Guild (Mrs G. M. Baker, Mrs H, W. Glcndinning, and Mrs G. E. Moreton); jimiblr—St. Vincent Do- Paul Society '(Mrs J, B. Callau. Mrs A. Sbiel, and Mrs H Popple well) ; cakes and dainties-Airs Marshall Maedonald and Mrs ft. M. Par!;; pindueo stall—Wom-n's Labor Lea;;u,s (Mrs E. Bennett and Mrs T. Ferguson) ; novelty stall, the Revue Company; coffee stall—Messrs Allan Young and Noel Smith; tea rooms—the SI. "John Ambu lance Nursing Division (Miss M'Nab and Miss Heley); si.de shows—members of the Fire Brigade, harriers, and sports bodies; wishing well, Chinese fortune-telling-, peep shows, etc., etc. It is also hoped to arrange- for a. Chinese si all and a flower stall. It was reported that offers of help had been received from the staffs of the' leading drapers and others, and that gifts bad been promised by many local firms. 'lho pictures for the art union had already been contributed.
