■ Monday, January 28. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES. ' John Roland Stevens was before tho court oh three charges of lulso pretences at Clyde, it being alleged that he obtained £2O from Arthur Henry Timms, and £lO from Francis John Bloy by valueless cheques, also board and lodging to tho value of £7 7s 6d from Alexander Robert Peterson. Sob-inspector Ecclcs asked for a remand till Wednesday next. Mr T. O’Shea (for accused) raised no objection, and the application was granted. MAINTENANCE. Edward Patrick Brogan, who did not appear, was charged with disobedience of a maintenance order. Mr Irwin appeared for the complainant. —Defendant was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended provided £2 is paid forthwith, and £2 fortnightly thereafter. BY-LAW BROKEN. For driviim his motor car on the wrong sid6 of tho road, Georgg Henry Augustus Simmonds was fined 20s, with costs (7s). DRUNKENNESS.
