Ulysses Lappas, tenor, is the only Greek singer who has attained international fame in music, but be richly deserves the highest praise, as lie possesses a voice of wonderful quality and dramatic power, with artistic finish. His singing of ‘ Veati la Giubbe ’ caused a sensation. Musiolovcrs can hear this excellent voice beautifully recorded on Columbia records. W. H. Squire's popular songs, such as ‘ A Sergeant of the Line,’ ‘ If I Might Come • to You,’ ‘An Old-fashioned Town,’ ‘ When You Come Home,’ etc., are always well received among ballad-lov-ing audiences, and Squire seems to have struck that note of unforgotfulness in all his music. You can’t help enjoying them, These songs are admirably.'played in a selection by H.M. Grenadier Guards* Band, which, in splendid music, realises the picture in the song. ’ This band selection is recorded on Columbia records, and every instrument is beard to advantage. Dancing has come to stay, and Ted Lewis and Ills band are playing fascinating “jazz” music for Columbia records. Wo all like Hubert Eisdell. His treatment of tenor songs is highly artistic. Hear bis in ‘Ah! Though the Silvof Moon were Mine,’ recorded on Columbia record (Number 1,487). ‘ Clothes Props ’ is a rollicky, jovial song, not without its touch of sentiment, which is sung by Topliss Green for Columbia records. The singer gives a very excellent interpretation, and you must enjoy it.
