A message from Chihuahua' Cit; Mexico, says that General Francisi Pancho Villa, the former bandit chi commander of 35,000 rebel troops : Northern Mexico, was shot and killed 1: his secretary, whom his chieftains ai; adherents killed in the ensuing battl Villa had long menaced the souther border of the United States, which i 1916 despatched a. punitive expcditic wherein General Pershing first gaine fame. _ Official telegrams from Mexico exonerate Miguel Trillo, Villa’s secretary, from blame for the general’s death. Villa, accompanied by Trillo, two guards, and h;s chaffcur, was motoring in Parras. While crossing a bridge tin; parly was attacked from'both ends by parlies of men. Villa and Trillo wore shot dead simultaneously and the remaining members of the party wore killed.
