PLUMBERS’ APPRENTICES.

TO THE EDI TOE. Sir, —Noticing in your column?, that a deputation of master plumbers waited on the Technical College Board regarding apprentices’ training, I am pleased to seo some move taken in this direction, as the workmanship is sadly degenerating. Might I ask. Is the boy's daily work made interesting enough to make him keen for his technical class at night? I think not; and this ought to be remedied. A little more time spent on a boy in explanation and tuition by the master personalty would tend to make him take an interest in his class more than paying his fee. It is <a long time now since I have seen a master giving a boy the idea of a spouting angle and the making, not to mention soldering, the slip joint outside. There are numerous such jobs which, if

properly 'explained by the right persons, the master himself, would tend to make the boya keen and take an interest.— I am, eta Firepot, July 21.
