BOOK ABOUT NEW GUINEA
PATROL OFFICER'S DESCRIPTION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 24. (Received April 26, at 1.5 a.m.) T. Fisher Unwin, Ltd., have published an interesting hook by Mr W. R. Humphries, entitled ‘ Patrolling in Papua,’ with an introduction by Mr Justice Murray, who pays a tribute to the extraordinarily efficient but insufficiently appreciated work done Vy the magistrates and patrol officers in Papua. Mr Humphries vividly describes. expeditions to Keronia and Morobe, in German Now Guinea. Ho was the first to work out a definite route across the territory from sea to sea. An additional attraction in the book lies in the description of the character of the country, the customs of tho tribes, and tho early work of the patrol officers.—A, and N.Z. Cable.
