Two frontier tribes who have been fighting beyond tho Kohat Pass have arranged a temporary truce to enable them to join in the tribal operations initiated with a view to rescuing Miss Ellis.—A. and N.Z. Cable. GANDHI IN PRISON. ~DELHI, April 20. Interesting details have been received of Ghandi from an Indian printer—a publisher who was sentenced at the same time, hut who has now been released, lie receives ail tho food asked for, and has an unlimited supply of books, as ho complained of mental starvation and unnecessary isolation. Gandhi’s views have undergone no change. He still holds to tho old programme. Ho spins daily for four hours, and otherwise ho is largely occupied in reading religious books.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
