ENGINE, WAGGONS, AND CARRIAGE DERAILED. A FORTUNATE ESCAPE. [Pen United Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, April 20. The train from Greymouth to Reefton struck a pig on the line between Hukarere and Waiinunga stations last evening, with the result that the engine, two waggons, and one carriage were derailed. The train was unable to proceed _to Reefton, and the passengers, numbering _ twenty, were conveyed by motor cars, \\hich were despatched promptly from Reefton to the scene of the, accident by the department. The line will be cleared to-day. Nobody was hurt. A considerable stretch of lino was torn up, and had the accident happened 10yds farther along tho line it would have been disastrous, as there is a deep precipice there.
