SUB-COMMITTEES APPOINTED,

Mr 11. L. -Tapley presided at the monthly meeting of the executive of the Overseas Club.

A letter was received from the secretary of the Returned Soldiers’ Association inviting two representatives to attend the Anzao Day memorial service, the president and the secretary being appointed to attend.—lt was resolved that a memorial wreath- bo sent at the request of the Returned Soldiers’ Association on Anzac Day. Arrangements in connection with the club’s Empire Day demonstration were discussed, and it was left to the Syllabus Committee to arrange the necessary details. Mr J. H. Walker was re-elected chairman of the executive. The following sub-committees were appointed for the ensuing year:—Syllabus Committee—Mr H. E. Barrowclough (convener), Dr Bonham, Dr Carmalt Jones, Mr H. L. Tapley (president), Mr J. Ash, Rev. 0. J. Bush-King, Mr J. EL Walker (chairman), Major Dampen, and Mias Geerin (hon. secretary); Finance Committee —Mr H. L. Tapley (convener), Messrs J. H. Walker, J. Connor, Colonel E. R. Smith, J. 8. Douglas, D. Larnach, Nicolson, and (Miss Geenn; House Committee—Mrs Ritchie (convener), Mrs Clarke, Messrs Nicolsou. De Spong, "and Ei. S. Clarke. The nominations of a number of new members were accepted.
