THE LAST FLUTTER
" One week’s fling in London, and then the end,” was undoubtedly the resolve of a “ mystery woman,” known at her hotel as Mrs Rowan, who jumped from a window on to a pavement 75ft below and met almost instant death. She cut her name and laundry marks out of her clothing, and her identity has not been discovered. She was a refined and pretty woman about thirty-five years old. Apart from a few clothes, she died possessing only sd, but a London guide book and a number of theatre programmes showed where her money had gone. “ Mrs Rowan ” appeared at dinner on Tuesday. Her eyes were bright with excitement, and she said that she had been to tbe Divorce Court, and had felt disgusted. She went to her room, and shortly afterwards was found dead on the footpath outside the hotel.
