An Association message from Christchurch states that John M’Kay. aged eighty-two, formerly a shepherd, died of injuries received when knocked down by a tram at Antigua crossing on Saturday. FATALITY AT FORD. Frederick George Howatson lost his life in crossing the Rakaia, River in a git; during high flood, six miles from South bridge station. The horse and pig were washed away.
