ORPHANAGE CARNIVAL.

The St. V incent de Paul Orphanage carnival in His Majesty’s Theatre continues to attract largo attendances, despite tho fact that it is now in the third week of its season. Last night a fresh budget of items was submitted by the Otago School of Dancing, and new items were also furnished by the Lyric Quartet and the Tip-Topical Party'. The entertainment was much enjoyed. Tho carnival will bo brought to a close on Saturday night, when the art union will be drawn. Thera will be a matinee to-morrow afternoon, when tho orphanage children and the pupils of the Sisters of Mercy will entertain. Following is the position of the queens:—Miss Blaney 1, Miss Ktcwsrt 2, Miss Inder 3, Miss M/Donald 4, Miss Daw-son 5, Miss Spiers 6.
