The Kahikft is duo Otero on Monday from Wellington-, and is listed to sail the same day for Now Plymouth and Nelson via ports. The Kurow has been fixed to load at Westport to-morrow for Auckland. _ The Waihcmo is due at Dunedin, tomorrow from San Francisco via nortlicrn ports to discharge part cargo. She is to sail on Tuesday for Timaru and Sydney. The Kini has been detained_ at Napier owing to bad weather. She is to leave Gisborne on Monday for Bluff and Dunedin. The vessel is duo hero on Thursday next, and is listed to sail the same ■lay for Napier and Gisborne via ports. The steamer Progress was docked at Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon for cleaning and painting. She will load.at Dunedin on, Monday for Lyttelton, Nelson. and Orcymoulh. Tho Waikouait-i is expected to be clear of her Newcastle coal cargo at Lyttel ton to-morrow. She will afterwards dock for cleaning and painting and to complete her survey. Tho Kaituna is duo at Lyttelton tomorrow from Timaru to load for Wellington and Auckland. The Devon, which was to leave Australia yesterday, is due at Auckland on December 6. Afterwards she will proceed to Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne, and is to leave Wellington about December 29 for London via Montevideo and Las Palmas. Tho schooner Huia sailed from Adelaide on Friday last for Melbourne, where she loads explosives for Gxeymouth, Westport, and Auckland. Tho Wauaka Is to leave Auckland tomorrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru, and Timaru. Tho Anchor Company's steamer Kaitea, which lias been laid up at Nelson for some months, has resumed in tho Wellington and Nelson passenger and cargo service. Tho C. end D. Line steamer Port Victor arrived at Wellington on Wednesday morning from Newcastle for loading. She is to leave Wellington on Monday for Napier and Wanganui, and then returns to Wellington to complete her cargo. She should sail from Wellington on December 22 for New York and London. INCOMING VANCOUVER MAIL. The Union Company has been advised by cable that the mail steamer Niagara sailed from Victoria (British Columbia) last- Saturday for Honolulu, Suva,, Auckland, and Sydney. The vessel is duo -at Auckland on December 15. STEAMER PURCHASE. WESTLAND SHIPPING COMPANY. [Special to tee * Star.’] GHRISTOHUROH, December L The Westland Shipping Company has i purchased tho steamer Tecs, which will ; leave Glasgow in three weeks' time for New Zealand, in command of Captain Dowell, who went Homo to bring out the vessel. Tho majority of tho shares of the company are, held at Greymonth, and some at Clia'tham Islands. It is intended to maintain, a weekly sendee between Greymouth and Wellington, and the agreement entered into provides for eight trips per annum to the Chatham Islands. RUAPEHU LEAVES SOUTHAMPTON Tho New Zealand Shipping Company lias been advised by cable that the liner Ruapehu loft Southampton on November 27 for Wellington’, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. The vessel, which is proceeding direct to Panama, is duo at Wellington about January 9. She_ is bringing seventy-six saloon and 232 third-class passengers and a general cargo.

DORSET LEAVES MONTEVIDEO.

Cable advice has been: received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Dorset arrived at Montevideo on November 26 from Auckland, and sailed on the same dale for London. TKELTON FROM MONTREAL. Tho steamer Trdyon, cargo laden, from Montreal, New York, and Norfolk, arrived at Wellington at 2 p.m. on Monday from Auckland. From Wellington tho vessel will proceed to Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney to put out remainder of her cargo. THE SYDNEY STEAMER. Tho Huddart-Parker Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Uiimaroa is to sail from Sydney to-morrow for Wellington, where she is duo on, Wednesday next. The vessel is to sail from Wellington on tho following Friday (December 8) on tho rot-urn trip to Sydney. THE CANADIAN CONQUEROR. Messrs 11. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the Canadian Conqueror, cargo laden, from Montreal via Australia, will_ omit calling at Bluff, and is now to arrive at Dunedin on December 1. Tho vessel proceeds from Dunedin to Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland to load for Lev/ York, Boston, and Halifax. THE CANADIAN BRITISHERThe Canadian Britisher, 6,370 tons (Captain A. Forson), arrived at Auckland last Sunday morning, and berthed at the Queen’s wharf to discharge about 300,000 ft, of timber and a small quantity of fruit from Vancouver. She also brought three -passengers—Mr Frank Burnett and Mr and Mrs Thomas Hough, tho two lastnamed being for Australia. Her cargo, consisting of 3,141,823 ft timber, 1,272 cases general cargo, and 403 cases of doors, was loaded at Vancouver Island, from, which tho steamer cleared on October 27, and experienced good weather with moderate trades until November 22. On that day she ran into a south-west gale, with rough seas abeam, lasting for two hours. Tho Canadian Britisher is the latest ship of the Canadian Government fleet, this being her first visit to New Zealand, and her third voyage. She is a sister ship to the Canadian Scottish, and has accommodation, for four passengers. The rate of exchange on both. Canadian and United States cargo for Customs purposes is 4.45 dollars per £ .sterling. THE FAN FRANCISCO MAIL. Tho mail steamer Tahiti, from San Francisco via -ports, arrived at Wellington at 8.30 a.m. to-day.
