Sir,—Russia being again in evidence, .it may be worthy of rote that tho official Bolshevik paper, ‘lnvostia,’ on March 3, 1921. drew attention “ to tho evor-increaa-ing lack of care for children, with, consequent infantile trading, theft, deceit, and more serious vices.” It quotes cases, such as tliat of a brothel in the Hitrov market place, whence as many us fifty children have been rescued, in one day, and declares that the number of children leading street life is colossal. ‘Trad’ follows m t.he same strain, and avers tliat “ out of 5.300 girls questioned 4,100, or 88 per cent., admitted prostitution. Thus docs Socialism work out in practice. And it is the system of government, under which these things happen that, is part of the platform of tho Now Zealand Labor Party, What fools these mortals 'be I —l am, etc., G. November 29.

Whilst millions are starving in this despot’s propagandists aro whisiriiig about London and elsewhere in luxurious motor cars spending freely to secure the world revolution. Before securing power Lenin declared that the proletariat could quite easrly keep the complex industrial machine moving. In quite a recent speech, reported in his own Press, he tolls the Russian workers it will take ten or fifteen years’ struggling with sharp traders to learn _how to trade, and castigates the trade unionists by_ saying it would be more to their credit to show qualifications to buy supplies and keep factories going than to persist in writing resolutions.
