ORANGE RESOLUTION

The following letter has been addressed by L.0.L., No, 21, Dunedin, to the Presbytorian Assembly, Auckland i —“ Wo, the officers and mom bed's of L.0.L., No. 21, No Surrender, meeting in Dunedin, do hereby place on record our deep appreciation ro the attitude adopted l by the above Assembly m furnishing means to combat the aggressive propaganda work of Romanism in this Protestant dominion. Wo also sincerely tliank the foresaid Presbyterian Assembly for its endeavor to have introduced into the yearly syllabus of its Bible classes studies of the Reformation principles and characters, also for tho wisdom in conferring and co-operating with the sister churches with a view to more active Protestant propaganda; mid, further, that ministers and home missionaries be recommended to hold the last Sunday in October as Protestant Principles Day. We feel sure that every minister of the Protestant faith throughout this fair land will readily agree and heartily respond to the above Assembly's recomjmendations, thus assuring the rising “■ generation, as well as all adult members of the Protestant faith, a thorough education in Christian truths instead -of .pagan myths. It is only by putting on tho armor of God and fighting tho good fight with all our might, and teaching tho children the history and truths of Christianity, tha.t wo shall be able to chock ;md ultimately eliminate the primary evils in our midst, thereby maintaining civil and religious liberty, free Press, free speech, and free pulpit, which are tho great bulwarks of the British Empire as symbolised by tho Union Jack. We assure* the Presbyterian Assembly and all other. Protestant forces of our staunch and strongest support in any action they may taken in upholding and defending the faith of our fathers, which has been passed down to us as a sacred heritage and a sacred trust. God will undoubtedly further .and bless your noblo purpose, which is our earnest hope and soulful prayer.”

On Thursday last tho members of the Court Advance A.O.F, assembled to witness tho final in tho fly-weight boxing championship, between Bros. It. M‘Kay and L. Wilson. Tlho match was controlled by Bro. A. Owen, and, even though R. M'Kay was declared the winner, Bro L. Wilson is to receive a special prize. The annual report was presented and read by the secretary. It contained _matter under tho following headings, which will show what can be done by volunteer workers : Membership, activities, boxing,' football, cricket, games, athletic troop, Scout troop, flute band, finance, concerts, etc. The concert held oft 'September. 9 showed a profit of £5 18s, which was used in supplying cricket material. The nomination of officers took place eo as to save time next meeting (on December 12), ■when the close of the year will be celebrated by a banquet. The court will meet at 7 p.m. 3 prior to the banquet.
