CONCEITS FOR PIPE BAND
BIG PROGRAMMES. The Burns Hall will he the centre of attraction on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, when on each night there will be a programme of Scottish items rendered by the leading artists of the city. The concerts, under the patronage of the local Scottish societies, are in aid of the fund to enable the Dunedin Pipe Band to lake part in the band contest next month in Wellington, Full details of the programme lor Wednesday evening appear in this issue, and tlio following artists will contribute to the programme to bo submitted on Thursday:—The Pipe Band will march to the hall and open the proceedings; vocal items will 'be rendered by Mjss Betty Baird, Messrs W, Mitchell and Paterson; quartets by the Lyric Four; tenor comet solo, Mr D. Whelan; violin solo, Mr K. Hunter. There will again bo a display of dancing. Those taking part Vinclude the champion reel party— Misses Grace Clamoron, Violet Paterson, Nan Wills, and Thelma Gillespie. Scottish dances, hornpipes, etc., will be rendered by Misses Annie Moore, Beulah King, Eileen M-Oartihy, Ruby Robinson, May Thompson, Ethel Sinclair, and Lily Fox and Alex. Sinclair. A feature of the entertainment will bo the appearance of the newly-formed Tramways Band, who have kindly offered their services. The box plan is open at Bcgg’s, and popular prices aro Charged.
