“CLASS LEGISLATION.”
TO THE EDITOR. Sir—With all tho controversy on tho Prohibition question the groat body ot electors do not seem to realise that in tho United States the wealthy class laid in huge supplies of liquor, sufficient in many cases to last not only' the purchasers themselves, but their descendants for generations. ami there was nothing in the law to prevent it. In view of tho coining poll, would you kindly state if there is anything in the" law to prevent those with the money in New Zealand from purchasing any quantity of spirituous liquor they desire to acquire, ns was the case in the United States prior to the coming into force of Prohibition, should it be carried m December? —I am, etc., Acts xix., 58.
October 9. [There is nothing in tho law to prevent such action.—Ed. E.S.]
