Although they (Ideated Williams and Washburn (last year’s American Davis Cup Doubles team)" in a sensational match, they appeared very weak to-day. Patterson's speed was a dish they could not stomach. The Johnson and Johnson y. Tilden and Richards match, which was scheduled to he played simultaneously .with that of I’attorson and Wood against Niles and Borotra, was postponed until after the latter contest.—A. and N.Z.
