LONDON, August 25. (Received August 26, at 10.55 a.m.) Major-general Sir George Bridges has been appointed Governor of South Aus-tralia.—-A. and N.Z. Cable. [Major-General Sir George Tom Mol©*worth Bridges is a distinguished soldier. He served in South Africa with Die Imperial Light Horse and hi command ot the West Australian Mounted Infantry. He afterwards saw active service m Somaliland. In the European War he was, mentioned in despatches seven times, and was wounded three times. He received a K.G.M.G. and was promoted to majorgeneral]
