The death of Enver Pasha from bayonet, wounds (’rented little comment. The Indian Press dismisses it with a short biography and the statement that, one of his few good traits was his uncompromising hostility to Bolshevism. The Afghan Foreign Minister has issued a statement to the newspapers explaining the Afghan Government’s attitude towards the Bokharan rising. The reorganisation of the civil administration and the military forces in the Afghan provinces, coinciding with the Bokharan disorders, did not mean differences between Russia and Afghanistan. The latter did not wish to create trouble with friendly neighbors like Russia and Bokhara. He further considers the Bokharan disturbances as a kind of internal disorder, in which Russia and Afghanistan have no right to interfere. Afghanistan remains neutral. She has no idea of world conquest. The Foreign Minister concludes by expressing confidence that Russo-Afghan relations'will daily bo directed towards strengthening freedom and welfare in Bokhara and Khiva (Turkestan). A Teheran cable states that 250 troops, despatched by the Arabistarr Government, were ambushed in the Bakhtiarl Mountains, and practically annihilated.
