County clubs aro searching the land for promising material, and treating the pitches so that practice could be carried on practically throughout the year. Regarding M'Donald, the express bowler, he declared that without the support of Australian fieldsmen ho was convinced M‘Donald could not attain on English wickets the standard of excellence won in Australia.
