LATE SHIPPING
THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL. The mail steamer- Tahiti arrived at Wellington at 1 p.m. yesterday from San Francisco via Papeete and Rarotonga. In addition to mails and passengers the vessel brought a large quantity of American merchandise for New Zealand. The Tahiti is timed to leave Wellington at 5 p.m. to-morrow for Sydney. LONDON TO NEW ZEALAND. Messrs J. W. Swift and Go. advise that the next C. and D. Line steamer from England for South Island ports has been fixed to leave London on September 20. There is every probability of tills vessel mailing Dunedin her first port of discharge. WAITOMO FROM NAURU ISLAND. The Union Company’s freighter Waitomo, from Nauru island with 6,500 tons of phosphate guano, arrived at Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon. Tho vessel will discharge 4,000 tons at Lyttelton, and 2,500 tens at Port Chalmers. The cargo -is consigned to Messrs Kempthome, Prosser, and Co. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL. The following vessels are expected to be within range of the undermentioned wirelews stations to-night Awanui. —Otarama, Ulinxaroa, Reive, bq. Auckland.—Wanaka, Flora, Opawa, Waiotapu, Eastern Sea, Kaiwarra, Dramana, Kaikorai, Maindy Lodge. Wellington.—Maori, Mararoa, Ngaio, Arawa, Westmoreland, Kaikawa, Manuka, Kaiapoi, Pinko, Tutanekai.
