At the Plunkct Society’s annual conference a motion was passed with a view to 1 putting Karitane hospitals on a better financial footing, making every branch from which a. patient was sent responsible , for payment for that patient. I A sub-committeo was set up to draw up recommendations as to a nurse’s duty in the house and her relation towards other children in the family. Dr Tvuby King said, with regard to the supply of emulsion to branches that | twenty ions were now being manufactured' , at Scaclilf, and arrangements were being | made whereby this would 1 ba considerably | increased if oniy branches would have patience. I Tho conference passed a resolution j heartily approving tho practice hitherto 1 adopted by tho Government of supplying j suitable literature to a newly-married | woman, and urging it to continue tho . work to tho best of its ability, believing 1 that sucli literature wa,s of the greatest I benefit to tho mothers in country districts. The conference specially urged tho Government to provide funds tor printing : and circulating a book entitled ‘The ExI poctant Mother.’
