LONDON, July 12. The death is announced of Admiral Moresby.—A. and N.Z. Cable. [Admiral John Moresby was born in 1850. Ho was the discoverer of the harbor (the finest in New Guinea) on which Port Moresby now stands. He was the discoverer also of twenty-five inhabited islands- and 100 smaller ones, and explored over 600 miles of coastline previously unknown. His publication’s .include ‘Discoveries and Surveys in New Guinea,’ ‘A Cruise in Polynesia,’ and ‘ Two A<L mirals.’]

The death has occurred of Read-Admiral Baynes, who commanded the MildUra at the annexation of the Cook Islands, and hoisted the flag at Rarotonga.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
