TASMAN IA SAILS, Having ibcen repaired and her cargo reshipped, the Near Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tasmania left Pori. dialmere yesterday afternoon for Bluff to continue Homeward loading. Owing to her sustaining damage to her hull below the-water-line when entering Bluff Harbor two weeks ago, which necessitated her being docked at, Port Chalmers, the vessel was ima-blo to lift the cargo for which, .-he first railed at Bluff. Thn Tasmania will subsequently .go to Gisborne, then Napier and Wellington to complete her loading. PASSENGERS BY THE RUAHINE. Tho Ruidiinc, which arrived at Auckland last Saturday night-from London and Sontlwrapton, brought the following passengers for New Zealand :—First saloon : MMes H. M. Barker, E. M. layer ton, ,L. At. Tho wooden ships of the Commonwealth Government Lino., which were Ih-nilt on the- Pacific Coast, arte still in the market fm- sale .but so far no offers have been made for them. The fleet—which comprises the- Bctlianga, Bellata, Ber-rin-ga-. and Bundami—has hern lying idle for about twelve months, up the Parramatta River, and all efforts to got rid of them have so far failed. Now it- is proposed to dismantle the vessels and offer the hull and engines separately for sale. It is thought in. some quarters that with the machinery out the vessels would possibly fmd a. market as hulks, and bids are now being asked for in this coivnertion. It is understood that (hoCommonwealth Government is undertaking the, dismantling of the vessels—that is, removing the machinery—to facilitate the sale. VESSELS IN AVIRHLESS GALL.
