PIGEON FLIGHT
The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew its young bird nomination race on Saturday from Rakaia, a.u airline distance of 160 miles, in fine weather. The bird; flow an average of 1,220yds a minute, Mr MacDougal, station master, liberated twentytwo birds, representing seven lofts. Tho winner takes a trophy donated by Mr T. A. Brown. Result:—J. Still's Veronica (ohr 57Jmin) 1. W. Hargreaves’s Lady Harrison (4br Oimin) 2, A. Stevenson's Starlike (4hr ( 11 min) 3, F. Jones's Linnet (4b r Sillin'! 4, A. Fraser's Hunart (4hr ojmhff 5. Birds entered by Messrs T. Veilch and 11. Lambeth also flew.
