HEAT SPOTS. Some Simple Remedies for Simple Illnesses.— Hanv requests have reached me lust lately for a euro for heat spots. With my own small fry I first of all make inquiries as to the regularity of their bowels, and, if conditions are normal, proceed to treat them in this way: First of all, I find that frequent small doses of fluid magnesia are the most effective for leone* ing the heat in the blood. _ I do not time them —just use whfit I think is tliG best judgment. Then, if tbeir skin is very sore and spotty, dab them frequently with methylated spirit until bedtime, when I nut them into a tepid bath with a liberal amount of baking-soda dissolved in the water. Next morning, as a rule, the heat and the spots are very much reduced, and a continuation of the magnesia for a day or two soon sets, thern right. _ If there is any sign of constipation I give them a stiff dose of liquorice powder, and wait until this is effective before giving magnesia, but give the soda bath just the same.
