Mr Otto Kahn, in a speech, said; “I would utilise tho United States’s monetary claims against tho allied nations and a portion of our own abundant gold holdings and every other legitimate means to aid European stabilisation, which is indispensable if the world is to recover an even keel. I would cancel tho allied war debts to tho extent that they are war debts, not as free gifts, but in return lor adequate pledges from the nations concerned, loading to tho elimination or mitigation of the circmnskiMJCS which keep Europe in a turmoil.”—A. and N.Z. [Mr Kahn is a prominent banker and a director of various musical enterprises. He was born in Germany, but is a naturalised American citizen. Ho lived in London for a time.]
