ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
Tho Executive of the St. John Ambulance Association held its monthly meeting last evening, the Rev. V. G. Bryan King occupying tho chair. Eho president (Mr J. J. Clark) was also present. A discussion in connection, with the annual collection, to be held on the 31st inst., occupied some time. So far the appeal for donations of goods_ has been liberally responded to, and little, difficulty is anticipated in procuring the number considered necessary. A considerable amount of detail work has still Jo be done, and it was decided to get this in hand promptly. With regard to the hospital social aarvico scheme, a recommendation for tho position of hospital hostess has been made to the Hospital Board, and will come before that body at an early date. As soon as the approval of tho Hospital Board is obtained the work will begin The date of tho annual meeting was tentatively fixed for the 28th inst., and it was decided to make inquiries as to whether the Governor-General could be present. During February tho association’s nurses paid 354 visits to patients, and tho ambulances ran 439 miles, the number of calls being seventy-six. The credit balance at the bank is £273 2s Bd.
