POST CHALMERS TENNIS CLUB
The annual meeting of the Port Chalmers Tennis Club was held in the Old Town Hall, Port Chalmers, there being a fair attendance of members. The Chairman (Mr A. Campbell) opened tho meeting with a few, remarks regarding the general welfare of the club, and complimented the members on the high standard of play maintained. Tho annual report, ami balance-sheet were read by the secretary (Mr E. E, Booth), and from these considerable discussion arose. During the -past year the club donated £lO to the. 0.L.T.A., arid this item had been a considerable drain on the finances of the club. However, despite many outstanding the elub is still in a fair'position financially, having a fair credit balance. Tho election of officers resulted as follows President, Mr John Alill (reelected) ; vice-presidents—Dr Borrie, J. M‘D. Stevenson, F. B. Leonard (reelected), 11. 0. Haggitt, and Dr Edgar; secretary and treasurer, Mr E. E. Booth (re-elected); assistant secretary, 11. W. Whyte (re-clccted); General Committee—“lis’ses I)e Mans, Bishop, Montgomery, ,F. Fullerton, G. Simmonds, Dodds, J. Jackson, 'Messrs H. A. .Booth, IT. IV. Whyte, J. A. Howden, W. Walkinshdw, J. Duncan, D. Harrison, A. Campbell; delegate to 0.L.T.A.. IT. A. Booth.
Tho president of the chib (Mr J. Mill) kindly offered to donate two jackets to the winning pair in a club handicap mixed doubles tournament, 'this offer was accepted by the club. The President congratulated the club on its past performances, * and wished the members renewed succes during the coming season.
