Leigh, held up because watersiders refuse to work bar with the new “skips,” Mr Bruce, secretary of tho Waterside 'Workers’ Union, states: “Your statement that a breach of the agreement has been committed by our union is incorrect. The fact is that a breach of the agreement and also a breach of the marine regulations has been committed by your company.” The secretary adds that the protection of life and, limb comes first; the cost of living would he of little concern to a dead man. There is no need to lose £2OO a day, as the watersiders are waiting to work the vessel in the usual way, by basket or grab, until tho dispute is settled. *
